What is Thermo Treatment?

• Process uses only heat & steam (No chemicals) in special kilns
• Heated to approx 400 degree Fahrenheit reducing moisture content
• Equalised at 6% moisture content by adding steam
• Changes colour to exotic brown throughout full thickness of the wood
• Rearranges cell structure to reduce movement related to moisture
• Removes wood sugars for increased durability against rot& decay from Pests & micro organisms
• Modification brings the natural beauty of the wood grains, enhances the Wood throughout, not just the outer surface.

Thermal modification process gives wood a distinctive appearance from maintaining its original look by protection coatings/oils etc to allowing natural weathering exposure from sun UV light/rain, leaving it untreated and letting it turn natural silver/greyish tone over time.
